Suttle Lake is always a good option for a sunny day and an easy hike along the trail. While the trail gets lots of sunlight, there are many spots you can have access to the lake to cool off or just enjoy the beauty.
It is typically pretty busy when the weather is right with families and lots of dogs coming to enjoy the site. The trail is rather long if you decide to hike around the whole lake, 3.6 miles but only a 207 ft elevation gain, according to AllTrails.
If you do plan to take your doggo out to one of the lakes off highway 126, Suttle Lake is certainly the better option, as nearby Scout Lake does not permit pets.
