If you want to see a waterfall that is both pristine and tucked away, Proxy Falls is a great option for you!
Access to Proxy Falls is off the McKenzie Pass, so it is only accessible by car from Late June to Early November, before it's seasonal closure. Driving the McKenzie pass is an adventure of it's own with windy roads, dense forest, and plenty of incredible views.
What to expect:
Dress in layers, you will have parts of the trail that is exposed to plenty of sun and parts that are covered by a canopy of trees.
Wear proper shoes. Like many hikes, you want to leave the flip flops at home. The trail can be somewhat steep heading towards to bottom of the falls
Bring plenty of water! (of course)
The bottom of the falls may be hard to navigate if you are trying to stay dry
In August 2020, I took my dog, Sophie, to proxy falls to celebrate her 12th birthday! Needless to say, she had an amazing time.
